Announcements

We are delighted to share some of the many achievements and milestones from across the rotation this year:

New Starters

  • A warm welcome to our new ST3 registrars, Sarah Kelly and Zaid Yasen, who joined the rotation this year.

Annual ST3 Interview Course

  • The Percivall Pott ST3 Interview Course was successfully held virtually in March. The course was very well attended and received excellent feedback. We extend our sincere thanks to the faculty who generously gave up their Saturday to support the programme. Special congratulations to Aditi Aggarwal, Abdal Zafar, and Baasil Yusuf for their outstanding efforts in ensuring the smooth running of the day.

Examination Success

  • Congratulations to Saima Waseem and Apoorva Khajuria on passing the FRCS (Tr&Orth)

Awards and Fellowships

  • Best wishes to Srin Ranjit, who begins the Perth Sports Surgery Fellowship (Australia), David Ferguson, who embarks on the Duke Sports Surgery Fellowship (USA), and Jenny Lane, who has started the National TIG Orthoplastic Hand Fellowship (Derby).

  • Congratulations to Sandeep Nayar on being awarded the prestigious BOA Travelling Fellowship (£10,000) to support his post-CCT fellowship in Shoulder & Upper Limb Surgery at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, next year.

Academic Achievements

  • Congratulations to Andreas Fontalis on completing his PhD at University College London.

  • Congratulations to Hasan Mohammed on becoming an Academic Clinical Lecturer on the Percivall Pott Rotation, based at Barts Bone & Joint Health.

International Collaboration

  • Continuing to strengthen our links with UCSF, Sandeep Nayar and Andreas Fontalis undertook a travelling fellowship to San Francisco, spending a week with the UCSF Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery Department, hosted by Prof Nick Colyvas. They also attended the Inman Abbott Annual Scientific Meeting. We look forward to building further on this valuable relationship, including UCSF representation at our own Annual Scientific Meeting.

Leadership

  • We congratulate Mr Lucky Jeyaseelan on his appointment as Training Programme Director of our sister rotation, RLHOT. Last year’s Trainer of the Year, he continues to provide invaluable mentorship and support to trainees across both rotations.
