Mr. Mustafa S. Rashid

MB ChB MSc (Dist) DPhil (Oxon) FRCS (Fr & Orth) FEBOT MFST(Edin)

I was born in Baghdad, Iraq and moved to the UK in 1990. I grew up in Bury, Lancashire and attended the same high school as Sir John Charnley! I attended Manchester Medical School, graduating in 2009. Before starting on the Percivall Pott rotation in 2013, I trained in the North West of England. I have read a PhD in Musculoskeletal Sciences under the supervision of Prof. Andy Carr at the University of Oxford (Worcester College) entitled, “Augmentation strategies in rotator cuff repair”. I have previously undertaken a MSc in Orthopaedic Engineering at Cardiff University. I recently completed my registrar training on the Percivall Pott rotation in August 2021. I am currently undertaking an upper limb fellowship at Wrightington Hospital. My clinical interests include upper limb trauma, rotator cuff tears, glenohumeral joint instability, and arthropathy of the shoulder.  I hope to secure a post as a consultant shoulder & elbow surgeon in London in the near future.
