Born and raised in Dubai, Shaz, originally from Pakistan, read medicine at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland before relocating to the UK. Coupled with his core surgical training in London, he completed an MSc in Orthopaedic Trauma Sciences, before joining the rotation after ranking 1st in national selection. His subspecialist area of interest is in spinal surgery. An Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Shaz runs 3 national surgical training courses. Outside of work, Shaz spends his free time with his beautiful wife and son, and plays football three times a week in a desperate bid to cling on to the glory days!
