Abdal graduated from Exeter Medical School, where his interest in sports and rehabilitation began. Competing himself at a high level in cricket, he also undertook his intercalated degree in Sports and Exercise Medicine. This interest continued through his foundation and core training years, in Nottingham and Leeds where he worked with national and international athletes, allowing him to increase and refine his knowledge of sporting related injuries. Working in a major trauma centre in Leeds also kickstarted his interest in research. He is excited to continue his passion for evidence based medicine at the Percivall Pott Rotation - a rotation so prestigious it managed to bring a Northerner to the south.
